# Overview

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that connects AI assistants to external data and tools. MindBridge’s MCP connection lets you explore completed MindBridge analyses from a compatible AI assistant, using plain-language questions to find analyses, understand risk scoring, and retrieve specific results.

The assistant queries results directly from your MindBridge environment, so you can explore them without first exporting data or copying analysis identifiers. You do not need to write SQL to ask questions.

The connection provides **read-only access**. It cannot create, change, or delete MindBridge records, ingest data, run analyses, or perform Insights workflows. Continue to use MindBridge for those activities.
