# Connection Activities

**Connection Activities** record outcomes and diagnostic detail for Connection operations. Each activity includes status, activity type, timestamp, and optional message and remote response fields.

Activities are created when a **Test Connection** job completes (the same asynchronous flow that emits the `connection.test.complete`
webhook). Use Read or Query to review test success and failure history for a connection.

#### Activity types

| Type | When it is used |
| - | - |
| `CONNECTION_TEST` | The test succeeded, or failed for a reason other than authentication or authorization (for example connectivity or remote API errors). |
| `AUTH` | The test failed because credentials or authorization were missing or rejected. |
| `LOCATION` | Reserved for future location-scoped events; not used yet. |

The activity type and status are used together to describe the event.
A successful test will have a type of `CONNECTION_TEST` and a status of `OK`. A failure would indicate one of the activities and a
status of `ERROR`.

#### Cleanup task

A cleanup task is regularly run that will delete history of Connection Activities that are older than 7 days. The latest record is
always preserved, regardless of date.
